Supreme Court Case Visit - Thursday April 27th, 8:30am to 1:00pm
Case name: State vs. Fukuoka; arrest for driving under the influence and 4 other charges
Issue: Right to a speedy trial. Right to dismiss without prejudice ("can retry"), or with prejudice
(cannot retry).
Steps to prepare for the visit:
1. Review and discuss the bill of rights
2. Review the powerpoint that summarizes the case
3. Lawyers will visit to do a small mock trial
4. Visit the court for the hearing
5. Reflect on the experience
